When The Flash zipped into the “Supergirl” TV show and introduced CBS viewers to the multiverse theory, fans have been asking when they will see a crossover in which Kara visits Barry on Earth Prime. The Berlanti camp has said that fans may see another crossover next season depending on “Supergirl’s” Worlds Finest episode. Since the episode’s release, reports have come out that “Supergirl” had a 30% bump in viewers thanks the Scarlet Speedster and the Girl of Steel team up. After a few weeks on baited breath, fans finally received some news regarding a future crossover episode.
In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, both series’ producer, Andrew Kreisberg, hints at the future of "Supergirl" on earth prime. “Any Kara that exists on Earth 1 would also have to have been an alien. It can’t just be Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie.”
When asked if Kara would be Power Girl (Kara in an alternate universe) instead, Kreisberg goes on to say, “Sure, different costume, but sure.”
It is unclear if Kreisberg is alluding to the revealing costume of Power Girl or if Melissa Benoist will be playing a different hero all together that has similar ties to Kara Danvers.
Since Melissa will not be able to maintain a constant role on "The Flash", there may be a way to have another super powered heroine that is not a speedster. In the comics, after Power Girl returns to Earth 2, another young lady takes up the mantel after receiving similar powers. Her name is Tanya Spears. Adding Tanya to The Flash as a recurring character would change the current dynamics of having a super-powered teen on the show that could open the DC CW universe to a live action version of Teen Titans. They could also age up the character and have a love interest for Wally West.
These are a couple of actresses that we believe could do the role justice. Who do you think should play Power Girl after Melissa Benoist’s character returns to Earth-2? Let us know down in the comments.
