Ok, so in the middle of a disaster Claire 2.0 and Luke stop for gas with two hostages in the car and neither of them yell for help from the crowd of people at the same gas station. There are multiple checkpoints that prevent Luke and Claire 2.0 from entering the gateway building so they decide to have Tommy come to them.
Hero Truther, the group the Micha is the leader of, releases a video showing the truth behind the Renautas part in the bombing, then Tommy and small town girlfriend talk about how Erica can't be trusted, but of course Tommy doesn't care as long as he can save the few people he loves. He then confronts Erica but decides to help her anyway, after she basically admits the video is true.
Matt brings Taylor to confront Erica forcing Taylor to hold a loaded gun to her own head. Matt's desperation is tragic and while I know and understand that he thinks this will help his family, despite the fact that he didn't bring his family to the facility nor does he have any way to get his family to the facility even if Erica agrees to his demands. He really didn't think his plan through nor did he put a backup plan in place in case he failed. As a villain he is horrible, I thought I finally had a worthy villain how wrong I was. Erica relents and gives Matt what he wants, however once she finds out Taylor is pregnant.
Finally, Luke drives to an abandoned area to drop off the dead weight while Claire 2.0 makes a halfhearted attempt to prevent him from killing the prisoners. Actually, it wasn't even half heart, she literally said "you're not that guy anymore" and gets back in the car. She might as well have said I just want to speak but kill them.
Tommy is surprised that Erica lied to him when he hears they only want to save 12,000 people because she has been known to be honest. Tommy is just a horrible character that makes bad decisions and doesn't think through situations.
We get a glimpse into Erica's past that no one asked for when she finds out that Taylor is pregnant by Francis (The guy that got a few minutes of screen time in the first two episodes). Apparently the reason she hates Evo's is because an Evo molested him in exchange for healing her father as a child. Taylor gets angry and her baby’s power is revealed because for some reason that's how powers work now even though it's never worked that way before. She then uses a nearby gun and demands her mother take her to Francis.
Phoebe taunts Luke and luckily for her Quentin hits Luke before he can kill phoebe causing Luke to lose the gun. Which of course Quentin finds and returns to Luke, then decides to join the team of rogues after literally just saving his sister's life.
Ren finally arrives at Renautas and for some reason, his name is on the list of people going into the future. Je runs into small town girlfriend who tells way too much information to a complete stranger ultimately tell Ren that she is dating the master of time and space. What happened to her jock boyfriend?
Tommy then goes to his mother suddenly mastering his time stopping abilities without practicing anything. He realizes suddenly that Erica has lied about so many things and now that matters for some reason, but he is having a crisis of faith and tries to rational why it would be ok to work with Erica luckily his mother is there to remind him of all the things she had removed from his memory.
Again we see glimpses into the past and Erica's pregnancy by the Evo. Taylor sick as a child and the Evo that molested Erica comes to save her. He instantly decides that he will take Taylor with him and expects Erica to go along with that for some reason. She responds by stabbing him in the back of the neck with a pair of scissors. A bit overkill for a guy with healing powers but hey. Taylor for some reason forgot that her mother runs a facility that employs many armed guards who quickly surround her. Erica offered her daughter forgiveness and a place in the future for her and the baby. Taylor decides she and the baby would rather die. Taylor is just the worst character on this show. She is judgmental and only cares about things when they affect her why have her baby face potential death because you have mommy issues? Why is this show trying to make Taylor seem heroic when she is just a brat that is mad her mother took her favorite toy? She only cared about Evo's when it became convenient for her and now that she can't have Francis she'd rather die and not only that she will allow her unborn child to die as well rather than go to the future and deal with her mother.
Claire 2.0 decides on an anti-Evo time to expose herself on TV to get Tommy's attention which only works because Micah and Farrah walk to a gas station and resend her transmission to every device that receives a signal that handily includes Tommy's mother's phone.
Tommy arrives minutes after Joanna. Tommy ends up trapped inside the same prison that held Hiro and, of course, Joanna manages to shoot Claire 2.0 twice before Luke roasts her with his ability. Luckily the invisible woman takes the bullets sparing Claire 2.0.
Ren teams up with Small town girlfriend who provides little to no help and seems to be around as a reason of Ren to tell the audience things.
Matt gets in a car accident while he is on the phone with his wife cracking his watch and sending the other two floats away in a nearby river. This is why you don't talk on a handheld and drive.
Yet again Erica has trapped the master of time and space and for some reason, Otomo seemed surprised that he got a needle in the neck. These characters are by far the dumbest in their actions, but I'm sure Ren and small town girlfriend will figure out a way to save Tommy from his video game prison.
The Review: And what happened to Noah? Why is it that people are suddenly stricken with a conscience? Either you rationalize until the end or you turn away and die by the hand of your former comrades you don't how to feel remorse and whine about the bad things you did for the "right "reason. Why is Erica still using the same type of prison that the last master of time and space broke out of? Where did her daughter go? Why hasn't Erica sent anyone to look at Harris? While I didn't mind the episode, it’s yet again, dragging its feet the erratic performance of this show amazes me. Some of the episodes are well written, clear and concise will others are long and make me question how I ended up watching this show.
Final Score: 4/10 Power Ups
