TV Reviews: Homeland: A False Glimmer

This episode starts where we left off with Carrie on the train tracks. She runs into Qasim who helps Carrie take out Bibi before he can release the sarin gas. Qasim lives just long enough for Carrie to thank him for saving Quinn, as well as hundreds of U-Bahn passengers. The rest of the jihadists are captured after a shootout.

We then see Saul alone with Krupin. Krupin tells Saul that he was an easy target. Middle aged- recently divorced. He then says that he knew that if Saul were sleeping with Allison, he wouldn't see things clearly. That is clearly right. That man was so naive LOL.

We then see Allison recuperating herself among human traffickers. She then tells the doctor that if he fucks up her shoulder, she'll see to it he never practices medicine again.

She then prepares to leave and gets into the trunk of a car. For three hours to be exact before the car is shot up with bullets from a CIA team headed by Saul. He looks inside of the car and then has the trunk opened. He then looks at Allison's bloody body, shot up from head to toe.

The German secret service then comes for Laura and Numan. Astrid is clearly not screwing around at this point. She tries to make a deal with Laura in exchange for Numan not being sent back to turkey to face execution. Astrid tells Laura to make things right on public TV about Faisal Marwan. As Astrid looks on, Laura announces that Marwan was an integral part of the attack on Hauptbahnhof. Numan will never know how she saved his life. But it's the noblest thing she has done.

Jonas breaks up with Carrie after hitting it one last time (typical). Carrie is now single and works for no one, what will she do now? It's only a matter of time before offers start coming her way. First, Saul offers Carrie a roaming brief with the CIA. She can choose her own missions, handpick her own team and have total autonomy. Carrie would have loved a position such as this once upon a time. But now, she wants no part of it. Saying that she is not that person anymore.

She then gets an offer from during. He praises her immaculate CV and interview technique. And basically asks her if she wants to go steady. Say what now? Carrie is shocked and speechless.

Meanwhile. Things aren't looking great for Quinn and the doctors are speaking of significant brain damage. He somehow found time to write Carrie a letter before any of this happened. He doesn't want any dumb found speeches from her, nor a star put on the wall like she did for Brody. Quinn's voice narrates the letters final passage as she prepares to euthanize him. Just think of me as a light on the headlands, a beacon steering you clear of the rocks. Suddenly sunlight bursts into the room. Carrie stops, and so does the season.

Review

Wow, this episode was really emotional. Carrie was about to end peters life before sunlight comes into the room. What does that mean? I want to say that maybe it was a ray of hope. Peter Quinn will make it through this. And props to Carrie. She has saved the world yet again, I'm more so interested in what she is going to do now. She clearly wants nothing to do with the CIA anymore so I guess she can go back to being a mom. A full time mom this time. Allison is finally dead, or is she? I get the feeling that we haven't seen the last of her. With all the tricks she's had up her sleeve this season, I wouldn't be surprised if that was a body double in the trunk. What I do know is that I will be patiently waiting for season 6 to start in 2016!

Final rating: 10/10 power ups
