TV Reviews: Homeland: Our Man in Damascus

This action packed episode picks up right where the last one left off. Quinn is in a coma after having been found by Carrie and Astrid. But it doesn't end there. Carrie and Saul instruct the doctors to wake him up so they can get some very important intelligence about a terrorist attack. But before he can say anything, Quinn starts coughing up blood and collapses back into unconsciousness. Carrie then sets off to find the Good Samaritan that tried to save Quinn's life.

Meanwhile, the jihadists are having a hard time with their trigger that isn't transmitting the signal. And with the rest of the gang on the watch list, Qasim is the only one who can track down the designer, Dr Aziz, and get him to fix it and prove his loyalty. But before the inspector can finish his task. There is a knock at the door. Who's on the other side? It's Allison, who is still playing as a double agent. She's been handed her walking papers by the SVR after having been told that she's damaged goods. Even worse, the SVR wants her to let the attack go through. So Allison now has two options. Either, side with the SVR and get paid lots of money or go against them and spend the rest of her days in an American prison. Allison however, comes up with a plan of her own. She murders Dr Aziz and her bodyguard Conrad, and shoots herself in the shoulder, setting the stage for her later escape.

We then see Laura, who is not pleased with Saul about the mistreatment of Faisan Marwan. Laura then heads to the nearest TV station and demands to speak to Marwan or she'll release the hacked documents. She has already informed Numan to release them should anything happen to her. That won't be so simple though. Once Saul heads back to the interrogation room he sees that Marwan has jumped out of the window and committed suicide. Saul says he's had enough for today and leaves the room.

Back with Allison. After the Feds show up, Allison lies and tells them that the attack is going to be at the airport instead of the train station. But Carrie doesn't buy it. While at the train station she recognizes one of the men from a picture that she grabbed and immediately texts Saul once she realizes that the attack will indeed take place at the train station. Once Saul gets Carrie's text. He realizes that Allison has been lying and runs to the room she is staying in at the hospital. But when he gets there, Allison is already gone.

Carrie, at the train station sees a commotion, asks a group of onlookers what's happened, and they tell her that a man jumped on the tracks. Carrie then jumps on the tracks herself with her gun drawn, and proceeds cautiously down the train tracks.

Review

All I can say is wow, this has to be the most action packed episode thus far in the entire season. Allison kills two people and shoots herself, Marwan commits suicide, and Laura threatens to release classified documents.

It's just too much for me to handle right now.

Final Score: 10/10 Power Ups
