TV Reviews: Homeland: S5E6: Parabiosis

This episode starts off with Carrie and Saul. Reunited and it's supposed to feel good, right? Well that wasn't the case because Carrie tries to convince Saul that the Russians are the ones that put her name on the kill list. She then tries to get the classified documents from Saul but he ironically rejects her and says that he doesn't believe anything that she is saying. Saul is too stubborn to realize that Carrie is actually telling the truth and the person behind all of this is lying in bed with him every night.

Back at the office, Saul starts to suspect that something is off and demands mandatory sweep of the station for any hidden bugs. This, of course, pissed off his friend Dar, who, in my opinion, is another weak level 1. The two engage in a private conversation in the next room with Alison eavesdropping in on everything. I'm really tired of her. I find it funny how they are pointing the finger at each other but haven't stopped to take a closer look at Allison or suspect her of anything.

We then see Quinn. The guy who saved him happens to be affiliated with a group of jihadists whose leader was just released from jail. Quinn is still recovering from his wounds so I hope he plays it smart. He tries to use reverse psychology on the group, and even taunts them.

Back to Carrie again. She is in a really cool disguise. She turns to During hoping that she won't get rejected like she was by Saul. During agrees to help Carrie escape. Carrie then wallows in self-pity, saying that she is the problem and how she brings down everyone around her. Is Carrie giving up? I hope not, she makes one last stop to Jonas house to get one last look at him before she disappears forever. She even deletes all photos of her daughter out of her iPhone.

Back at the station we see Saul again. He seems really paranoid. Especially when he find out that he has been locked out of the computer system. He then tricks the bug sweepers into doing another sweep while he stole document files off the laptop. Saul then arranged a meeting with During and hides the disk drive with the files in During's pocket because he knows that he will be searched once he is caught.

Saul then admits to During that Carrie tried to reach out to him and that he didn't believe her, but he does now. Once Saul is escorted out by the agents, During puts on his coat and reached into his pocket to find the drive that Saul put in there. During is able to deliver the drive to Carrie moments before she is about to board the plane and start her new life. The episode then comes to a close.

The Review:

Seems like this season is getting more intense as it progresses. Allison still thinks that Carrie is dead and Carrie still doesn't know that Allison is the one who put her name on a kill list. I seriously want Allison to finally be outed in the next episode. This woman is walking around causing havoc everywhere and playing the clueless role. Really? I was relieved when Saul came to his senses and realized that Carrie was telling the truth. He should know by now that when Carrie says something, it turns out to be true 99% of the time. I really don't have any dislikes with the episode. I feel as if everything is finally falling into place and I can't wait to see how it all ends!

Final Score: 10/10 Power Ups
