Popular Anime streaming service Crunchyroll is now making the bike riding anime film "Yowamushi Pedal Re:RIDE" available to stream, as the premiere entry in a series of compilation films. The movie is available as of 4:00pm Pacific Time for premium members, with free members able to watch near 7:30pm next week.
The synopsis is as follows: The young Onoda Sakamichi is a rather timid, anime-loving first-year student at Sohoku High School. Upon entering high school, he tried to join the anime research club, but after meeting Imaizumi Shunsuke, a renowned cyclist since middle school, and Naruko Shoukichi, who swept the Kansai cycling championship, he ended up joining the competitive cycling club.
The film is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Wataru Watanabe. Which began serialization in the 12th issue of Weekly Shonen Champion in 2008. This manga then leads to an anime television series adaptation which began airing on October 7, 2013.
