Trailer Discussion: Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

So my random readers, as you may have read above, today’s topic is the trailer out for the highly anticipated (depending on who you ask of course;-p) horror movie…Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension. Now I’m the kind of girl who loves a great horror movie (pending that I’m not in it of course) and what’s better than a scary movie right before Halloween weekend to get you properly amped for the big day. Well as a self-proclaimed horror movie connoisseur and a person who has seen all the previous Paranormal Activity films, I’m not sure I quite buy into this one folks, sad to say I wasn’t that big of a fan of “The Marked Ones” I personally think they should have stopped while they were ahead at “Paranormal Activity 4” and just left it there. Per the usual way of films I like they kept going and lost me but as I’m the type to finish the series I thought why not give it the grand old shot so after watching the trailer and thinking about it, I’ve got a couple thoughts for the public to chew over when your deciding whether this is worth the money or the time.

Ok let’s get into the facts about what I saw. The trailer has your average family of a mom, dad, their daughter, and what is a probably going to be the murdered brother, for kicks, moving once again into the same house as their predecessors. They ended up finding the token VHS tapes that lead them to a world of wtf. They then procced to watch said tapes and interact with them causing a series of supernatural events to happen to and around their family. Once again, we find ourselves on the edge of our seats hoping the poor little girl make it through this (preferably without at least one of her parents ending up dead), but as the trailer goes on and you see her speaking backwards in a mirror chanting Bloody Mary and her eyes turning completely black you realize that maybe your “hope” is completely not welcomed at this movie. The twist to this film that’s supposed to separate it from the others is now the family, in theory, has a fighting chance against their imminent death since they found a camera that allows them to actually see the entity that’s attacking them and face it head on.

So overall if you’re looking to find something you have never seen before, I would say, this is not for you but if you’re looking for a good thrill and a couple of jump scares to make your weekend a blast then by all means go see this movie. Bring a date or a friend. Maybe even both and embrace The Ghost Dimension.

Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension is in theaters now.
