Star Wars is a huge tease. Never in my life has my breath caught in my chest so many times in one night. Just the anticipation of the new trailer was killing me and it did not help that the various 5 second commercials with just the sounds of a lightsaber and the Monday Night Football logo did not help but the wait was well worth it.
The trailer provides insight on the character’s mental state; what they believe themselves to be and what they are capable of doing. Finn states that he doesn’t have anything to fight for. Rey says she is no one. The adventures of Leila and Luke Skywalker are considered old wives tales and Han Solo tells them that every story they were told is true. I am curious how that came to be in one generation. We also get to take a look at the new villain who was staring at possibly Darth Vader’s old, dry, brittle bones. I believe the last voice heard in the trailer is Leila urging the two young heroes to accept the force.
I do not know how many times I watched the trailer but I can tell you that if I was not excited before, I am now. Let me know what you think in the comments below. What was your take on the trailer?
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit theaters December 18th. I highly advice you guys get your tickets as far in advance as possible.
