Game Reviews: The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat

If your Sims can’t find enough ways to relax, maybe it's time for a vacation. Currently there is only one place to visit which is Granite Falls which in the deep woods. The deep woods give you choices of accommodations for the camping grounds. You can be a true camper with only the necessities or bring the “luxury” by renting a 4 bedroom home for your getaway.

The prices seem excessive to me (111 simoleons/day for the minimalistic camping grounds) even still, I have taken my Sims on vacation.

New activities are available as well as new wardrobe items. Activities include roasting marshmallows, hot dogs, and veggie dogs, hunting the new flowers and insects, playing horseshoes, telling campfire tales and even stargazing. A new trait even came with this gamepack. The squeamish trait causes Sims to hate all things creepy, crawly and generally gross.

Sims also get a moodlet once they return home, proving a vacation under the stars isn’t bad once in a while. Oh and a new aspiration has been added. “Outdoor enthusiast” aspiration is for Sims who want to find and grow plants. It’s quite similar to gardening with a fishing component. In total not much would be lost if you didn’t add this gamepack to your collection as it is not necessary to enjoy the game.

Final Score: 5/10 Power Ups
